Pistachio (Sicilian)

Sicilian Bronte DOP nuts; shaved or crushed as garnish.

Origin
Bronte, Sicily, Italy

About

Pistacchio di Bronte DOP is the small, intense, slightly piney pistachio grown on the slopes of Mount Etna in eastern Sicily. On pizza it's a garnish: crushed coarsely or shaved fine and scattered over a mortadella slice or a pesto bianca. Buy shelled, raw, unsalted. American pistachios (Wonderful, etc.) work but skew sweeter and less aromatic.
